Calling All Women!

Women in the congregation are the very heartbeat of the church. If you attend First United Presbyterian, you're already a member of Presbyterian Women — all are welcome.

Meets: Monthly, September through May
Focus: Planning activities, events, and community mission work

What We Do
  • Elect our own leaders and manage our own budget
  • Partner with church committees on gatherings and events
  • Participate in PW/Horizons Bible Study
  • Support community mission work and special ministries
  • Contribute to the mission of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) worldwide
  • Develop the leadership abilities of women
  • Preserve PW historical records for the congregation
  • Maintain connections with PW at other governing body levels
Our History

PW has existed in some form for more than 200 years. Its earliest predecessor, the Women's General Missionary Society of the United Presbyterian Church of North America, was formed in 1883. Today, PW groups exist at every level of the church and in congregations throughout the country.
